In many (most?) rural areas, like where I live, it's 60'.  Anything over 
that and you need a permit.  My SSV project was fairly involved compared to 
a 25G for instance.  I had to go to the planning commission for the permit, 
have state stamped drawings, special inspections, etc.  If you are in doubt 
at all, make sure you line up a few dozen of your customers to fill the 
room and speak on your behalf if need be.  I would have been voted down had 
I not done so.
