I have set up a few radios to test the feasibility of a link for joining a customer's two sites together. Due to non line of sight between the two buildings, a relay site has to be used. The radios at the relay site will be connected using a hub (eventually to be replaced by a switch).
When using simpleNMS on PC2 (connected to the airBridge @ Site B), all the radios in the chain can be seen. When using simpleNMS on PC1 (connected to the aPPO Access Point @ Site A), only the aPPO 1 (Access Point IP 192.168.168.26) can be monitored. However, the MAC address of aPPO 2 (Client Bridge IP 192.168.168.27) shows up as a client in simpleNMS, with the LQ and RSSI values registering in the Client Info tab. I am able to ping all IP's from PC2 @ Site B, but only aPPO 1 from PC1 @ Site A. Am I missing something basic here? Why would all radios appear when looking from one end of the "chain", but not from the other? I want to change the first link (or maybe both) to a Wireless Bridge but would like to find what the issue is here first! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. The equipment at each location is as follows: Site A: 1 x aPPO Relay site: 1 aPPO, 1 x aPPTotal, 1 x 10Mbps hub Site B: 1 x aBTotal ...and the topology and IP addresses are as follows: PC1 @ Site A - IP: 192.168.168.201/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 | | aPPO 1 (AP mode) @ Site A - IP: 192.168.168.26/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 . . aPPO 2 (CB mode) @ Relay Site - IP: 192.168.168.27/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 | | 10Mbps hub @ Relay Site | | aPPTotal 1 (AP mode) @ Relay Site - IP: 192.168.168.30/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 . . aBTotal 1 @ Site B - IP: 192.168.168.60/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 | | PC2 @ Site B - IP: 192.168.168.100/24 GW: 192.168.168.100 . = wireless link | = cabled link I hope the topology makes sense - the line lengths may get trimmed by your email client causing a linefeed to be inserted.
