Hi Scott,   Thank you for your information provided. For the 3 mile distance, you may go for 13 dbi or 15 dbi directional antennas which will not over-transmit beyond the 4 -5 mile distance. If the ABT is placed very nearby distance to the AP then you could try adjusting the dial-power to lower values.
