Hello Steve, Julio and all the SF users, I am a SF Noob and I have newly 
acquired SF. I have successfully compiled the SF kernel-dist target for the SF 
examples installed under Eclipse. Nevertheless, to keep things simple I am for 
the time being working from the command-line. Hopefully, using Eclipse with SF 
will come later once I can get the sfDaemon or smartfrog to run.

I have set 

SFHOME=C:\Documents and Settings\david\My 
Documents\dev\java\smartfrog.3.12.022\dist

I have read the SmartFrogTutorial.PDF and I have read building_smartfrog.PDF so 
I am not sure what I have missed so far that would allow such an onerous error 
as shown below. The particulars follow and please advise, David.
