As someone who remembers horror stories of corrupted drives from bad
USB-SATA bridges, please let me know if it's safe to issue a smartctl
-t short to this drive. It seems to be SAT compatible...at the
moment, I can't risk the data that's on this drive, but I was daring
enough to query the drive with smartctl -d sat -a. The output is
attached, and it looks like the drive inside is a Seagate Momentus
SpinPoint M8 (AF).
