The platform file is a bit different between SmartOS and SDC. But if we can get this verified against the newer bits and get a bit more community help on testing some older chips, we should be in generally good shape with getting this landed. I'll hopefully have something to test, either later tonight or tomorrow it's looking like. Seems like this sync wasn't too bad (yet!).
