It is actually a big deal for us (possibly for others too). This single requirement had the potential to spoil our SmartOS SDC container adoption.
Have a workaround, but native time changing would be best. In VMware we did not have difficulties with time as fat VM's allow this obviously. Maybe other cases will come out of the woodwork as SDC and container adoption will be going up, I am sure we are not the only case..
