Hello, Another Linux guy who just installed hist first SDC7 headnode here...
The part about custom images is optional and can be postponed IMHO, as you can begin to use SDC7 with the various images provided by joyent. About the part "Image Management in a Local Manta", I guess it requires the setup of a local manta... So early in the process you may have no choice but to install your custom image in the local storage of the head node..
