Is there a specific application you are trying to run inside of Docker? Joyent ships almost 15,000 packages, and if the application runs inside of Docker on Linux, chances are really high that the exact same application is available in a native SmartOS version, which you can run inside of a joyent (native) zone. It will be just like Docker, except the zone will behave as a fully functional UNIX system.
