Oops.
Fixing this helped A LOT!
After that was fixed, I changed the BIOS Console Redirection back to COM1, and
further specified “continue redirecting after POST”.
Now I get everything in the serial console, which was the goal.
I understand, and agree, that a better way to go would be to stop redirecting
the console after POST and configure ipxe to use the serial console.
I’ll work on that in the background, but for now, the setup above is
accomplishing everything I need….
Thank you again for all your help. My syntax error which cost me hours is
plenty embarrassing, but I did learn important things about ipxe, sdcboot, and
SOL, so some benefit :-)
