I have not tried it but i would say try with a USB key and if that doesent
work try installing the refit bootloader on mac and then use that to try
and boot your usb key and if you want to change the efi boot manager
settings you can use an arch linux live cd to do that, thats how i
installed linux on my mac mini and then removed the need for a mac
partition or the refit boot loader.
