I'm trying to find out for sure whether you can or cannot run a SMB server in a zone on a SmartOS host. I just need to set up some shares to be accessible from Windows hosts but I'd like to have zfs snapshots so I'll either do it on my existing SmartOS hosts (if possible) or build a standalone OmniOS box for this purpose. Can someone advise me on this?
