Well, if you install busybox's alternatives you then need to be very careful with package upgrades, since AFAIK e.g. installing again sysklogd will result in the lost of the busybox alternative [4]. Another reason specific to Debian on the FreeRunner has been explained by Joachim at [5]. A more detailed discussion on busybox alternatives is available at [6].
