Hi Enrico! I moved the discussion to the smartphones-userland mailing list, I think the latter is the correct place :-)

I tested with different calls (.ch to .ch/.it/.fr mobile phones and .ch to .ch landline phone) and the other ends always confirmed me that my voice was clear, maybe a bit distant, but without any strong echo. OTOH, I heard the other end a bit low, which is problematic if you are e.g. at the rail station. This is with the default scenarios. FYI, only one of them told me that it seems there is still an echo, but very low and with a long delay: thus, if there are no pauses during the conversation, the echo is not audible. > Shortly afterwards I recall Qtopia solved the issue just by sending the > right command to the GSM to turn on echo cancelation and the audio > quality became good on Qtopia on both sides. I guess you were referring to ticket #1267: http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/1267 http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/community/2008-October/033312.html I stopped using Qtopia at DebConf8 and since then I used either Om2007.2 or FSO/Debian, so I cannot comment on the above. Thx, bye, Gismo / Luca
