the install completes, however, the reboot produces a black screen with a small portion of the toolbar in the lower left of the screen (not upper side). I find this in ~/.xsession-errors: Xsession: X session started for root at Sat Sep 19 09:41:35 UTC 2009 1496 (dpy) 09:41:43 [0] read_settings(): stalonetray 0.7.6 [ XPM:yes DEBUG:yes KDE:yes ] starting 1496 (dpy) 09:41:43 [0] parse_rc(): could not open /root/.stalonetrayrc (No such file or directory) 1496 (:0.0) 09:41:44 [0] tray_acquire_selection(): ok, got _NET_SYSTEM_TRAY selection Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/zhone", line 74, in ? import cairo ImportError: No module named cairo libnotify-Message: GetServerInformation call failed: The name org.freedesktop.Notifications was not provided by any .service files 1496 (:0.0) 09:42:10 [0] add_icon(): 0xe00003: icon added as hidden X itself is running, but it is not of any use ... What package is missing? *me asking dpkg* neo:~# dpkg -l \*cairo\* | grep ^ii ii libcairo2 1.8.8-2 The Cairo 2D vector graphics library ii python-cairo 1.8.6-1+b2 Python bindings for the Cairo vector graphic good enough? No? Hm. apt-cache search cairo does not list something obvious to me. FWIW: my install was interrupted, because configuring localepurge does not work in unattended mode, and I lost stdin due to </dev/null in my test script. So. I might as well do the whole thing again ... :-?
