Can you recap the actual error? I didn't understand what effect
increasing the verbosity should have to the framework other than making
it slower.

Check out the last couple of years of the DBus mailing list, the problem
with timeouts is a recurring topics. Apparantly the DBus creators don't
care much about embedded platforms nor about anything else than the use
cases they have in mind, hence they keep ignoring this issue.
