Looks like bug, as call counter should work in exactly the same way as
sms counter... And here it works.
Any interesting data in logs?

for messages it prints the same, no other messages visible.
my copy of opimd-cli dates from last year (don't know when exactly) and i
can't find the place, where i downloaded it, again.
did something change in the meantime?
