You are probably losing the first ping for reasons unknown. The FPing probe has blazemode to discard the first ping, try that. http://oss.oetiker.ch/smokeping/probe/FPing.en.html

When I use SmokePing, I get the following graph: packet loss: 20.00 % avg 20.00 % max 20.00 % min 20.00 % now One out of every five packets are reported as missing. I had changed the fping frequency from 3 (where I was getting a loss of 1 in 3, or 33.33%) to 5 (where I was getting a loss of 1 in 5, or 20.00%). At first the reported loss was only to a ping to google. Then I stopped the daemon, cleared the rrd data, restarted SmokePing, and the "loss" went to the first hop outside of my router. I repeated the process and now the "loss" is on the second hop outside of my router. Bug? Is it known? Is there a patch? Thanks in advance, Andrew _______________________________________________ smokeping-users mailing list smokeping-users@lists.oetiker.ch https://lists.oetiker.ch/cgi-bin/listinfo/smokeping-users _______________________________________________ smokeping-users mailing list smokeping-users@lists.oetiker.ch https://lists.oetiker.ch/cgi-bin/listinfo/smokeping-users
