Just to add few more infos about the Samba modem use. My environment
and drivers:
WinXP-SP3
Sun Java 1.6.0_11
RXTXcomm.jar+rxtxSerial.dll comport interface, version RXTX-2.2pre1
must have "srv.getSettings().SERIAL_NOFLUSH = true" option

Samba installs a virtual usb2com interface so it's seen as a regular
COMxx device. My test laptop gave it COM20 identifier.
