You should mention complete registry entry name like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM\Winachsf0
In my machine with XP installed, the above key shows COM8 where laptop internal modem (dial up) is connected. You should check to see if the entry is dial up serial port entry. Go to Control Panel -> Phone And Modem Options -> modem (Second tab) See the list of modems installed and where they are connected. One of entry will always be showing connected to a port without connecting your mobile. This shows dial up modem (which is present in all latest laptops).
