I am new to all of this sms, comm, etc. I am a software engineer, can get around in the code. I am just looking for an overview of how to get started here. I have a gsm phone, a motorola K1m. I've done some google search and it appears the phone has a gsm modem, but not entirely sure. All I know is the device timed out. I used the argument -Dsmslib.serial.polling and I get the same result. I have the verizon smsc number, but that probably isn't useful at this point.
I guess the question is, is there a list of potential phones that could be used, I have looked at the compatibility list. How does one know if a phone could be used potentially? Also, how does one figure out the baud rate? I'm running on Linux, if there are drivers needed, where does one find them? Is my best bet to just buy a gsm modem and be done with it? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SMSLib Discussion Group" group.
