Edit "AModemDriver.java" ( http://smslib.googlecode.com/svn/smslib/trunk/src/java/org/smslib/modem/AModemDriver.java ) and locate the big "while (true)..." statement in method connect(). Comment the while block out.
Be warned though, that the issue you are facing (no response from CPIN) is a sign that your phone is incompatible. "Muting" the CPIN handshake is not the solution - you'll probably face other issues as well.
