Thank you for the reply.  I understand SR is not good.  I was able to send 
and receive by adding this 
(gateway.getATHandler().setStorageLocations("MESM")) on the zte modem.  But 
after 5 inbound and outbound messages it stopped working and I can never 
get it to work again.  No change to code, any reason?  I restarted the 
modem and deleted all messages (still no luck), also tried different baud 
rates.  Please help!   What could cause it to suddenly stop working.  Here 
is a snippet of the log now:
