Hi,

Although I've seen your private message, I am responding here as this may
be of other friends' interest as well.

First of all, I can certainly accept the fact that the docs may not be
complete or good enough for someone starting today. But on the other hand,
it was never my intention to provide comprehensive documentation about
messaging and how this works under the hood. That would be too much for a
single-person project like this.

If you search the web, you will find plenty of materials about sms
messaging. Check ETSI and 3GPP organizations as well. You will find plenty
of information about how messaging works, capabilities, encoding etc etc,
both in unofficial and official forms.

SMSLib works following these protocols. My goal was to create docs to help
you start using smslib quickly without going into the actual
transport/protocol details. After all, a library's purpose is to hide all
these, isn't it?

If you are interested in the technology behind smslib, my recommendation
would be to first study the protocols (e.g. http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/)
and then work with smslib.
