SMSLib does drop the call, after it received the "caller id" indication
(which will record as well).

It's true that this is not an instant action. I've also seen getting 3-4
rings before the call is dropped. Judging from the logs I've seen (from my
own test modem), the "caller id" indication may indeed arrive with delay.
I've never experienced a one-minute delay, however there is a delay.

I am wondering if this is a modem specific issue...

I don't know how to drop the call faster - unless of course SMSLib is
modified so as NOT to record the caller id and drop the line immediately
after the RING indication.
