Hello, I assume that all your modems are the same, right? I mean, you have located the issue in the number of modems - the "third" modem, if left alone, works ok?
It could make sense to try with a 32bit environment. I.e. Download the 32bit JDK (it goes to a separate folder in "Program Files x86"), install JavaComm v2 to *that* folder and try to run your setup.
