Two motorcyclists, including a Las Vegas Fire
Department paramedic, were killed on US 95 south of
Boulder City when a car drifted into their lane and
struck them.
38-year-old Kevin Sparks was dead at the scene. His
financee, 26-year-old Brandy Cherry, was also killed.
She was a paramedic with AMR.

Police say the two were heading to the Laughlin River
Run-- where thousands of motorcyclists converge for a
weekend of parties and music.

US 95 was closed all afternoon and part of the
evening.

The Highway Patrol says it's not clear why the driver
of the car drifted into oncoming traffic. The Patrol
says alcohol was NOT a factor.

The 58-year-old driver was airlifted to the hospital,
where she was listed late Friday in serious condition.
A 68-year-old passenger is listed in fair condition.

Sparks worked at Station 7. A fire department
spokesperson says all stations are lowering their
flags to half staff and putting black bands on their
badges.
