Toronto, Ontario :

Toronto EMS is being hit hard by the arrival of SARS in the Toronto area. So far, two of our paramedics has been hospitalized with SARS, and many more are being quarantined, and/or are under medical observation.
Just so you get an idea of how serious this is, our medical director has suspended our salbutamol medical directive - no
one gets Ventolin (Albuterol) for any reason by any method, in order to decrease the airborne particulate route.

The medics who have been hospitalized for SARS wore gloves, N95 masks and gowns, as well as masking the patient, a suspected SARS patient. They contracted the illness anyway. This disease is VERY contagious with casual contact. 3 people in Toronto have died in the past week from this illness.
