I'd put my hand in my pocket for the memory card if I was you. One of the great things about digital photography is that you can just take picture after picture without worrying about the cost of film. Any you don't like you can erase later, so you can afford to play about and try things out.
You can pick up a 2GB memory card for less than a fiver and that'll give you about 120 times the space you currently have, which would be about 1200 pics. I think that camera also has a video mode; 16mb internal memory is less than a minute of video. Smaller capacity cards (128 mb, 256 mb, etc) can be picked up from ebay for literally pence.
