Hi Virginia Also, if it's a MacBook Pro, it's got a FireWire 800 socket, you can get a FireWire 800 -> 400 cable, called a 9pin to 6pin cable. That will allow you to connect your old Mac. If your old Mac has FireWire 800 also, just get a 9pin to 9pin cable to connect them.
