I'm looking for a piece of software that imitates file cards. But I don't want a rolodex or anything like that: just the cards.
I find a very good way of organising ideas is by moving cards with a little info on them around. I use this for organising lecture material and writing outlines. I'd like to arrange the cards freeform, without a grid (though a grid can help on occasion). It would be nice to be able to link the cards, too, with hyperlinks. Even better would be to import into keynote, but I'm sure that's asking too much, and it's not the essential requirement. Years ago there was a spin off from a screen writing program that did this fairly well. But it wasn't upgraded or updated and won't work with OS X. Does anyone know of anything like this?
