Plug it in via the dock and either iPhoto or Aperture will spring into life and 
will offer to import the photo(s) from your iPod. At least that's what happens 
with my iPod touch anyway...

Failing that you could plug it in and see if Image Capture finds them. Or share 
the photo(s) from your iPhone/iPod and email it if it comes down to that.
