Sam I appreciate the offer but I have not lost any data - it was my back-up drive and I have replaced it with another - but I was hoping to salvage the drive itself. I hoped that something might have blown in the circuit thingy in the mounting and that the drive itself might have survived to be reused in a drive dock. It appears not.
If you still think you can get some life out of it I would love to try.
