Hi Ana

Snow Leopard is mostly all 64bit with a few 32bit processes in there as well.
There's no 32bit or 64bit version thankfully, Windows 7 really gets on my
nerves with differing versions and the inability to crossgrade without
reinstalling everything.

Have you checked your network settings on the iMac? The fact that it's
happening across 3 browsers indicates that it's a system-wide fault rather than
browser-specific.

Go into System Prefs > Networking > airport or ethernet depending on your
connection > Advanced :

TCP > check everything's set to DHCP (common for most people) > make sure you
have an IP address that doesn't start 169.xxx.xxx.xxx
DNS tab > there should be only grey entries (automatically assigned entries are
in grey)
Proxies tab > Untick everything
Click Apply

I'm assuming that your iMac is a standalone machine, ie not part of a corporate
network, so these are the settings for your average computer (if you were part
of a corporate network then you'd probably have a support department).
