Hi I have sourced a well-price Mac Mini, the first Intel release of 2006. I think it will do the job for GarageBand recordings, something the Mini will be mostly dedicated to.
I may open it up to upgrade the HD and its 1GB of RAM. There was a previous posting about the performance gains an SSD can give with lower-powered processors; I am interested in going this way. My question is, can anybody recommend this SSD or make other suggestions for me: Kingston 64GB SSDNow V SSD 2.5" SATA-II Read = 200MB/sec, Write = 110MB/sec I would be looking to use it for the O/S and apps, data being kept on an external drive. With an SSD is it still worth upgrading the RAM from 1GB to the max of 2GB or will the £30 spend be of little value with an SSD in place?
