Hi all,

I just felt I had to comment on a few things. I wandered into the Apple Store
the other day and was playing around with the MacBook Air, just out of
curiosity you understand ...

What I found was extraordinary, I thought. I launched several applications such as
Aperture, Garageband, Pages and Numbers - apps which I use regularly and on my dear
old iMac take some time to start - and the time from first tap to having a running
application on the Air in just a second or two wiped the floor with every other
non-Air Mac I tried in the store (OK, I didn't try the Mac Pro), including the
27" 4GB i7 iMac! I'm sure once an app is launched and the Mac is required to do
some serious heavy lifting and processor intensive work rather than simply loading
stuff from disk it's probably quite a different matter. Nonetheless, it just goes to
show that clever design and an SSD can produce incredibly gratifying results in such
a beautifully compact package.

And whilst I'm gushing I have to say that the new GarageBand for iPad is amazing! I'm
using it on the "iPad Classic" :-) and it just made my jaw drop and put a very
silly grin on my face and all for less than a pint of fine ale ...

Aren't Apple great?

Cheers,

Stephen
