There have been several stories in the press about hacking into gmail
accounts. Yesterday, in the Guardian, there was a letter saying that you
could protect yourself against this by setting up verification codes (go to
options on top right of gmail page). Well, I have done this and all seemed
to go well, then I found that my iPad and iPhone were not able to receive
emails through gmail. An email from Google tells me to set up "application
specific passwords" for iPads and iPhones which are generated on the Google
site. The reason I am writing to Smuggers about this is to find out if
others have been following this route and whether they have had any
problems. I have been able to sort out the iPad by putting in the specific
password into Settings, but I cannot get the iPhone to work using the same
method.
