I always liked l'Hôtel Place des Vosges (http://www.hotelplacedesvosges.com/) in rue de Biraque (4th arrondissement). Literally a stone's throw from the Place des Vosges, Paris oldest (and most beautiful) square. A couple of hundred yards from the Bastille.
