At work I have the use of a 17" Late 2011 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.5.
It's lovely, but there are a couple of issues with it which I have not had
using essentially the same software on my earlier model.

1) Video .mov files produced using FCP can be double-clicked of course for
checking, in which case they open up the Quicktime Player. In most cases,
I am editing HD. The pictures play fine, but there is no sound. However,
if I hit the space bar with the .mov file selected, the expected sound is
fine - as of course are the pictures. How can this be corrected? What is
happening?

2) Double-clicking - for instance on an rtf, jpg or pdf file opens not
only the file that I am double-clicking on but any number of other files
(not everything on the machine but seeminly a random selection) at the same
time. I have never had this before and can not think of a solution.
