Hi Adam I've streamed plenty of stuff from my iPad to the TV via AppleTV, that can include any app available through Airplay Mirroring. Most modern Macs can also stream directly to the AppleTV, check if yours is supported here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If your Mac's capable of Airplay Mirroring then anything on your Mac's screen can appear on the TV.
