iPhone 4, with a new-ish home button (replaced about seven months ago). At odd
intervals, but especially when plugged into power, has a tendency to launch
into Voice Control. I think this is a symptom of the home button sending
false positives (not least because sometimes pressing the power button to put
it to sleep takes a screenshot instead). But it's the Voice Control that's
the really annoying part - unless you notice as you walk away after plugging
it in, it's liable to listen to the radio and start phoning people!
Short of jailbreaking, is there any way to tell the iPhone that you never ever
want it to use Voice Control? Or at least, that you never ever have and never
ever will ask it to dial someone by voice command? (I've tried setting the
passcode lock, that was supposed to fix this - but it doesn't seem to - maybe
when iOS 6 was released, with Siri on iPhone 4s and later, Apple stopped
paying attention to how it worked on iPhone 4?)
Or has anyone encountered this problem before, and found a way to deal with it
short of replacing the home button?
TIA,
Ben
