I've just read through all 21 pages of the Pages discussions on the Apple
boards and Pages sounds like a nightmare. :(

I'm no power user of Pages (at least I don't think so) but there's no way I'd
want to use Pages 5 for any reason except compatibility with the iOS7 versions.
Apple have removed:

Reordering of pages
Deleting of pages
Duplicating of pages
facing pages (two up view)
linked text fields
inline images in a text box
mail merge
My photos from the media viewer

That makes it unusable for me - I've used almost all those features every time
I've created a multipage document (except MM) - luckily installation does not
remove Pages '09 from your Mac. The new interface is odd after all these years
but that's a questions of adjustment - missing functionality is another matter
altogether.

A goal of full file compatibility with the iOS7 version is laudable indeed and
Apple's previous half-baked attempt meant that except for the most trivial
documents I'd not put them in iCloud. Apple seem to have solved the problem by
removing all the depth of the OS X version! I hope the OS X version matures
again soon - it's currently appears to have gone to nursery school.

Sigh.

A Mars spokesperson, discussing Deep Fried Mars Bars, said: "... [this] would
go against our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles."

Yea. Right.
