I've used it since my original iPhone as I've never been on O2. It's worth
paying for the premium one (about £5.99 a year iirc).

As for APN settings, if you install 'My giffgaff' from the App Store you
can install the APN profile from there.

The best thing about giffgaff IMO is payback. I participate a moderate
amount on the community and am also an accredited Silver level helper and
my next payback (due end of Nov) is almost £30 at the moment. Add to that
you get a fiver every time a sim that you've given to someone is activated.
