It's a G4 desktop Power Mac that I bought from Jason Kitcat some years
ago, not a laptop.
On the back, it says it is has server.
It seems to have connections for 2 hard drives connected by a
"bootstrap" wire with two sockets for hard disk connection.
It had only one hard drive installed. The reference on the bootstrap is
"FOXCON 080-0003-192".
That is with Robert Harding at present, to be returned in the next 2 or
3 weeks.
He has the name of a contact who may be able to scavenge information
from the failed hard drive.

If it’s got a PATA connection, and it’s in the 2.5” form factor,
it should be compatible with any G4 laptop. Perhaps google the model
number to check if anyone’s had any experience with them. PATA SSD
drives are somewhat of an odd thing, they’re faster versions of an
old, slow protocol, still nowhere near a SATA SSD.

Thanks Sam
Do these just plug in?
And are they all compatible with Mac internal wiring?

PATA is much slower than SATA, so you’re unlikely to see much of a
performance benefit from a PATA SSD drive, but here are some

I have a database which uses OS9 Classic and the Hard Drive has
failed on the G4 PowerPC Hard Drive.
Is it possible to replace the failed drive with SSD?
