There was only one server showing before I changed over. I didn’t add it so I presume it was added automatically. None of the addresses are greyed out.
I forgot to mention that the Mac has often been connected via wifi and ethernet simultaneously. Not sure if that could be why this has happened. I've taken the server off again but my original server still doesn't work (obvs). This is all way beyond my level of competence but can anyone advise me on how to set up a working address? The problem exists on all networks, even my iphone’s hotspot. The Mac can see all available networks and join the one it’s asked to but once it’s joined nothing gets through either up or down. I checked to see if it shows up on my home router (192.169.1.1) and it’s definitely there. I’ve tried quitting all apps, restarting (x3) and going through every setting I can think of but nothing works. For info it’s running High Sierra and I have Little Snitch installed (I’ve disabled it several times to no effect). If anyone has any ideas I’d be really grateful.
