Hi all,

Sorry for another question, but I can’t find a definitive answer online or even
in Apple’s forums.

I migrated my Aperture library to Photos years ago. Aperture no longer runs on
my current macOS and I’ve also been using iCloud Photos for about the last
three years.

I’d like to save the 52GB taken up by my Aperture library if I can. Now, online
I know that when migrating from Aperture to Photos the Photos library was
hard-linked to the Photos library and though it looked like it was taking loads
of space, it actually wasn’t. What I can’t find is someone who says “Now all
your photos are stored in iCloud, the Aperture library will not even be
hard-linked to your Photos library so delete it and get the space back”!

The last modified dates are November 2017 for Aperture and October 2019 for
Photos (even though I updated it last night).

Is anything to be gained from deleting my Aperture library other than tidiness?

Cheers,

Stephen
