After more digging around, it seems Intercom to iPhone is a 14.2 feature (in beta) and 14.1 is HomePod to HomePod - hence not if they're in stereo in the same room!
I'm looking forward to it! It has me tempted by HomeKit and a few lightbulbs around the house that Siri can control. Any tips? They seem pricey, especially when they need replacing?!!?
