Thanks Sam and Jason

Re. Jason’s question it says "Format: Generic File System (macFuse)”

It’s connected to the rest of my home network not by wi-fi but by ethernet cable to the Router (actually I’m not completely sure - I have so many things connected! It might be connected to the router via a “TP Link box” that I bought because the BT router didn’t have enough ethernet sockets)

I suspect it's formatted for use with Macs (eg AFTP) but not a Windows compatible (eg FAT).

Select it in the Finder and see what it says by Format (under Modified) and let us know. If it's not that, we can take it from there.

This is a drive that connects directly via wifi, correct? or is it attached to another mac?

cheers,

I recently got rid of my old WD "MyBook" drive and have now attached a WD "My Cloud Home" drive. I can access this new drive on my iMac, iPad and iPhone but not on my Sony Bravia TV. I used to be able to play video files from the old drive on this TV.

Attached is a screen shot of my Finder showing the situation - the old and now missing drive still shows up as "My Cloud-1RRF6A". The new drive shows as "Philip's M..ud Home".
I have tried dragging the new drive into the Network file but am asked to click "Authenticate". Where is the "authenticate" tick box? I can't see it anywhere. Finally, would trying to move the new drive into this Network file be a good idea or would it mess everythng up?

Has anyone got the time to advise me? I'm obviously ignorant of this type of file handling!

Good wishes,
