FYI

I just copied the first of my DVD’s using MakeMKV (This software is free to use 
for DVD’s and becomes shareware if you want to rip Bluray discs) very easy to 
use.
I then conveyed the output files using Handbrake, all went very well.

NOTES

The DVD was 8.4 gb as was the ripped MKV file.
The ripping took 27 minutes, (M1 Mac Book Pro.)
* Interestingly, the converted mp4 file game in at a huge 23 gb, I think I need 
to play with the Handbrake settings to get this down to a similar size to the 
original file.
