Because, they are still Jewish.  They haven’t renounced their faith.  Jewish belief has always anticipated the arrival of the Messiah.  The difference between Messianic Jews and other Jewish folks is that they believe the Messiah has come (Jesus) and other Jews believe he is yet to come.
